Badfish

Badfish at Cains Ballroom

At Cains Ballroom on Wednesday, February 17, 2027, at 8:00 PM, Badfish brings a very specific kind of live appeal to Tulsa: the sound and spirit of Sublime, delivered by a Rhode Island band that built its identity around that catalog. For listeners who like their concert nights grounded in recognizable grooves, quick-turning rhythms, and an easy blend of punk, ska, reggae, and rock, this is a smart pick. The music has enough bounce to feel loose and fun, but enough edge to keep things moving with bite.

Badfish formed in 2001 as a tribute project, and that long-running focus matters. Rather than treating the material as a novelty, the group has stayed centered on the songs that made Sublime such a durable presence in American alternative music. Even the name points directly to that connection, taken from Sublime's “Badfish” on 40oz. to Freedom. That kind of detail should matter to fans who care about the source material, but it also gives newcomers a clear entry point: this is a band built around a familiar sound with a wide reach.

There is also a broader musical curiosity here. Badfish recently promoted original material under its own name, including an upcoming LP titled Watch Your Mouth, which adds another layer to the act's identity. For local concert listings, that mix of tribute focus and ongoing creativity makes the evening especially worth a look.
