Dylan Wheeler at The Vanguard - OK
Walking away from oilfield work to chase a melody takes nerve. You find out on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 8:00 PM when Dylan Wheeler takes the stage at The Vanguard in Tulsa.
Wheeler comes from Edgewood in East Texas, part of the Texas and Red Dirt music scene where songs still carry dirt under their fingernails and truth in every line. He left oilfield work behind to write his own story, and that choice colors every lyric. Since his 2018 debut EP Tell Me If I'm Wrong, he's built a catalog that includes Times Are Changing, Reaper, and Your Call, songs rooted in real decisions and the weight they carry.
This isn't a greatest-hits victory lap. It's a working songwriter in the middle of the journey, the kind of night where you hear the craft up close and remember why live music matters. Early in his career, Wheeler played solo acoustic shows around college towns, honing his voice one room at a time. Now he brings that honesty to Tulsa.
If you want polished spectacle, stay home. If you want a songwriter who knows what it means to rebuild a life from scratch, The Vanguard is where that story unfolds. See where the road has taken him.
