John Mulaney

John Mulaney at Tulsa Theater

A small everyday detail can become an entire comic adventure in John Mulaney's hands. If you enjoy a story that takes its time finding just the right turn, his stand-up is worth making an evening of. Mulaney plays Tulsa Theater on November 21, 2026, at 7:00 PM, giving Saturday night a sharp observational-comedy option.

The attraction is in the writing as much as the subject. Mulaney's comedy pays attention to the ordinary, then finds an unexpected way through it. That makes this an appealing choice for people who enjoy following a comedian's train of thought: the careful phrasing, the distinctive perspective and the moment an apparently simple story takes on a different shape. You can come for the familiar voice and stay interested in how he builds a joke. His specials offer a useful introduction. New in Town, The Comeback Kid and Kid Gorgeous each give newcomers a place to start; Kid Gorgeous earned an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special. His work beyond stand-up includes writing for Saturday Night Live and helping create Stefon with Bill Hader. Those credits help explain why listeners who enjoy sketch comedy and tightly constructed humor may find plenty to like in his stand-up voice.

Among stand-up shows in Tulsa, this date suits a night out centered on listening, storytelling and a comedian with a recognizable point of view. Share a favorite special with someone before the show, or use this as your reason to get acquainted with his work.
