Les Miserables

Les Miserables at Williams Theatre at Tulsa Performing Arts Center

At the Williams Theatre at Tulsa Performing Arts Center on Sunday, January 24, 2027 at 2:00 PM, Les Miserables brings a towering story into an intimate room of 421 seats. The setting makes the emotional scale feel especially close, which is exactly what gives this production its pull. Part of Theatre Tulsa's Broadway Series and locally produced musical lineup, it offers a chance to see a classic work with the focus and immediacy that a smaller house can create.

The draw starts with the material itself. This is an epic 19th-century redemption story centered on Jean Valjean and Inspector Javert, adapted from Victor Hugo's novel. With music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, and a book by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, the musical has the kind of structure that invites audiences to settle in for moral conflict, sweeping emotion, and a story that keeps turning on hard choices. That mix gives the show lasting appeal for anyone who likes theatre with heart, consequence, and a strong literary foundation.

Theatre Tulsa adds its own local significance. As Oklahoma's largest and longest-running non-profit theatre company, it brings established producing experience to a title known around the world. In the context of stage shows around Tulsa, that combination feels especially inviting: a major musical, a respected local company, and a venue that keeps the performance within easy view and easy reach.
