Tulsa Ballet: The Nutcracker

Tulsa Ballet: The Nutcracker at Chapman Music Hall at Tulsa Performing Arts Center

Snow, magic, and a child's imagination meet on one polished stage in Tulsa Ballet: The Nutcracker. At Chapman Music Hall at Tulsa Performing Arts Center on Saturday, December 05, 2026 at 2:00 PM, the holiday favorite centers on young Marie's Christmas Eve journey through 19th-century Germany, with the Nutcracker Prince, the Mouse King, and the Sugarplum Fairy all part of its lasting appeal.

What makes this production especially inviting is the way Tulsa Ballet shapes a familiar story into a vivid theatrical experience. The company describes its artistic roots as blending classical dance with dramatic theatre, and that combination gives the ballet a clear sense of motion, character, and story. Rather than feeling like a seasonal ornament, the work has the structure of a true stage drama, guided by choreography from Val Caniparoli and Ma Cong.

There is a reason this title continues to draw attention in Tulsa theatre. It offers elegant movement, recognizable characters, and a holiday setting that feels both timeless and easy to step into. For audiences who want ballet with a narrative center, this production delivers a story that is clear enough to follow and rich enough to keep unfolding as it moves from one scene to the next. Tulsa Ballet also says it is regarded as one of the top ballet companies in North America, which adds to the interest surrounding this date.
