Tulsa Ballet: The Nutcracker

Tulsa Ballet: The Nutcracker at Chapman Music Hall at Tulsa Performing Arts Center

A winter tradition takes on a polished stage life in Tulsa Ballet: The Nutcracker, where the familiar holiday tale meets the company's own dramatic style. On Saturday, December 19, 2026 at 7:00 PM, Chapman Music Hall at Tulsa Performing Arts Center becomes the home for Marie's Christmas Eve journey in 19th-century Germany, a story that brings the Nutcracker Prince, the Mouse King, and the Sugarplum Fairy into one of ballet's most recognizable worlds. For anyone planning a seasonally themed night out, this is a strong choice in Tulsa's theatre scene.

What gives this production extra appeal is the way Tulsa Ballet describes its artistic roots: a blend of classical dance and dramatic theatre. That combination fits a work where movement has to carry character, atmosphere, and storytelling all at once. Choreography by Val Caniparoli and Ma Cong adds a specific creative signature to a title audiences may already know, which can make the experience feel both familiar and newly shaped. It is an inviting option for ballet regulars, and it also offers a clear narrative for people who are drawn to the season more than to ballet's technical side.

Tulsa Ballet says it is regarded as one of the top ballet companies in North America, a detail that adds confidence for anyone choosing a holiday performance with artistic weight behind it. The appeal here is straightforward: a well-known story, a respected company, and a December date that suits the material naturally.
